Goose-stepping?!

The other day, I was out walking a dog down the trail by the local golf course. Suddenly, I saw a rather large bird strutting ahead of us on the trail. It looked for all the world like an ostrich/goose/turkey running (dare I say goose-stepping!) along the path! It was flapping its meager wings in a panicked sort of way. My dog friend obviously didn’t see it as he was busy sniffing around in the underbrush.

Unfortunately, I never did get to determine what it was as it was long gone by the time my canine companion and I got to the spot where I’d seen it.

Just goes to show, you never know what you’re going to see when you are out and about in Kemptville!
