The CriTTer Concierge

Compassionate care for your companions!

An Attitude of Gratitude (or cattitude, as the case may be...)

One thing that my new work life as The CriTTer Concierge has given me is the opportunity to drive around the small towns and countryside in my area.

This gives me great pleasure for several reasons. First, I LOVE to drive! I have a cute little sports car that I bought years ago when I was going through a rough time and needed a lift. It makes me happy just to look at it and driving it is a dream!

Secondly, it gives me a chance to look around and really appreciate the gorgeous scenery and changing seasons in the region.

This led me to a bit of an epiphany recently. I have friends and life-coaches who suggested that, when I see something that gives me joy, like a herd of horses, a flock of sheep (notice that it’s usually animal-related!) that I should say ”thank you”. I do, and it always makes a feeling of calm and contentment wash over me. It occurred to me the other week that this is likely because it causes me to stop the endless “to do” lists my mind is scribing and focus on the here and now, to be fully present in the moment.

We are so blessed to live where we do and so fortunate that we live in peace and have everything we need to survive – not everyone in the world is able to say that. Being aware and thankful makes us better people.
